Image quality deteriorates when the page is published

When I insert images into the page, I resize them and they look good. But when I hit the Update or Close button to exit the edit mode, the image quality drastically goes down. I'm using Confluence 6.2.0.

How do you "publish" your pages?

Sorry, the button is labelled as "Update" for already published pages. Anyway, I think there is some issue.

You can see it on the following snapshots:

1. This is how the image looks on the page in Edit mode:

Just a guess:
Do you resize the image to less than 300 Pixel?
Does the problem also appear when you resize to a size bigger than 300 Pixel?
