Human readable names for Confluence pages

Yamila Vigil April 29, 2013

Hallo:

We are using Conlfuence OnDemand, but sometimes we can see the diference between some url that generate Confluence. For example, sometimes the name of the url is totally readable like:

https://jwebsocket.atlassian.net/wiki/display/JWSDEVSTD/Common+Coding+Conventions

but in other moments, in the same space, Confluence generates a totally different url:

https://jwebsocket.atlassian.net/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=2621452

We would like to know how define a page in a space of the way that it generates a readable name in the url???

Thanks in advanced!

If you say away from special characters in the title, then the url is readable.

Hallo Bob:

Yes, the problem is that sometimes Confluence generates readable url, for example thisone:

https://jwebsocket.atlassian.net/wiki/display/JWSDEVSTD/Common+Coding+Conventions

But in other moment in the same space, it changes totally the convenction to create the url, like here:

https://jwebsocket.atlassian.net/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=2621452

This url doesnt say me nothing clearly about the name of the space or the page, and the before url, yes.

So, We want to know what we need to do or of what way we can create the pages in Confluence that always it generates readable url?
