Trying to identify way to stop the Confluence page number from changing each time a new child page is created.
The purpose is to create a macro in a Chrome extension that opens the "Shift handover" document to the current day.

The page ids you are seeing here are essential to the way Confluence works, there is no way to stop them changing, other than to prevent all editing and child-page creation.
You are going to need to look to other data to do what you need. Would a page property work?
