When creating an entry link field in a database to reference another database, there doesn't appear to be a way to configure which field in the referenced database should be shown in the entry link.
As a result, I am stuck with it showing a tag field, which doesn't help identify the referenced row.
I've tried this with multiple databases, others in our organization have tried, and we've waited for it to move out of beta status.
Hi @Gary Clarke
Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Currently, the Entry link indeed only displays the first column of information added to the linked database.
That means, for example, if you have added the tag field as your first column in database A, the database B entry link will display the information added in the Tag field column values.
However, if you move the column Tag field with the Text field or User field, and one of them is the first column, it will display its information instead.
We don't have a configuration yet to make it customizable yet, so I have created this Feature Request for our product team awareness:
Feel free to add any feedback in the link report above, as it will help our teams to understand the use case, how critical it is, and how this affects your daily tasks, as well as help us prioritize the features we can implement in the future for our products. :)
As another workaround besides the column order change, as mentioned in our documentation Getting started with Confluence databases , it can be used the Entry Details column in database A, as it will show the information you chose from database A when editing the Entry details field.
Hope this helps, Gary!
Cheers,
Jessica
Hi @Jessica
thanks for your input. Unfortunately this neither works for me, it keeps displaying only values from a tag field, irrespectively what's (in) the first colum of the linked db.
Thanks and best Regards!

Dear all,
it worked once I removed the 'status' column from the source table. No idea why that field got linked in the first place.
