Dear community,
I am looking to change design of search result page. I need complete modifications on search result page as
1. Modify the way it displays result
2. Change side of navigation pane to right side.
3. Add new entries in the navigation filter area.
4. Add actions of new entries and its result should render on search result page.
Please find the design page attached with it .
This will require you to hack the core code in Confluence, amending the files that render the search pages.
That is not a small engineering task, and it will render your Confluence unsupported and un-upgradable (best case is every upgrade will destroy your changes and you will need to re-build them, and possibly re-write them for every new version)
You might be better off writing a new add-on and replacing Confluence's search pages (assuming it is only layout you need to change - if it's the search itself, that's another story), but it's still not a minor change.
I would question why you are trying to do this - is it really worth running a whole development project for some layout changes? Are your users really going to see a huge benefit for all that work?
Thank you for your response.
Thats right !!! I can understand its not small engineering task but thats why I am trying to find simple solution for it, though no success.
You are right that for least work its not worth to run development project and it needs certain skills to do. We are customizing some stuffs of theme and adding our own designs on pages. According to our UX design this page is being constructed and we got connected. Anyways I have few more question as mentioned below :
Is it possible to load search result to load content on same page (Not talking about global search but kind of search by lable or data. i.e Click on link text of page and load result in same Ipage.) ?
How can we do minor changes on design global search result ?
Kind regards
