Yuko September 18, 2019

I want to create a user group that can only fit in a specific space.  The group members can not have access other exiting or new spaces.

How can I set it up?

As jira guy mentioned, if public access was turned on you'll need to switch it off - https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/setting-up-public-access-156.html

If you want to know how to create groups, you can check this guide: https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloud/create-and-update-groups-744721627.html

We've got a couple of groups who need different access to different spaces, so make sure it's clearly identifiable!

You'll need to go into Space and update the permissions to add the Group: https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/permissions-and-restrictions-139557.html

First disable anonymous access for your site if it was enabled. Then create a group and add them to specific space
