I've created a simple table with dates and the names of on call people.
I can see how to filter by a specific date, but there doesn't seem to be an option to filter dynamically. For instance when I look at the data I would like to only see people on call for today's date or later, and ignore historical data.
Is there any way to tell Confluence to use the current date each time the filter is opened?
Confluence Databases does not currently support dynamic dates, which is a shame really.
If you're open to Marketplace alternatives, I can suggest you the app Elements Spreadsheet. We recently launched a new macro - Project Tables - which supports dynamic dates. You can basically apply a conditional coloring rule that will highlight table records which match your today's rule.
In the example below, records where Due Date = today are highlighted in green (or any color of your choosing):
We support many other dynamic dates:
I hope this helps!
Hi @Justin Balcombe ,
If we are talking about simple manually created Confluence tables, please define what app you are using for filtration, it is not possible in Confluence out-of-the-box.
We develop the Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets for Confluence app and its Table Filter macro understands the "today" function.
To filter by the today's date, you can use the "today" function in the date range filter. This function returns the current date as a date value. By setting the dynamic values in the date range filter's input, the filtered results will automatically update according to today's date.

I'm using one of the new database tables and filters, not a text table:
The filter allows you to filter by date, but it seems to only accept static dates:
