How to do I set Space Permissions using REST API ?

Hello,

We have data center version of Confluence (version 6.15.2)

 At present, I'm able to call REST API to create Confluence Spaces. However, we have a need to programmatically update the Space Permissions on the newly created space. I was unable to find REST API references for setting Space Permissions.

I've read that JSON-RPC does not work for versions higher than 5.5.

Please advise on an approach.
