How to disable global statistics emails

Hi everyone,

 

our users have reported that they received a mail "Skyrocket remote productivity with our exciting new tools" containing global stats of our site. How can we disable that such confidential information is distributed to all users?

Hello Andreas,

Thank you for contacting us about this. We had a recent promotional email that went out with that subject line:

Is this the email that your users received? If so, they can unsubscribe from marketing emails at the bottom of the email, or by going to Email Preferences on id.atlassian.com:

  1. Click your profile photo, and select Manage your account.
  2. Select Email from the menu, and below Email Notifications, click the link to the Email Preferences Center.

If this is not the email they're referring to, could you share me an example of the reports they're receiving? Please edit any private information out of your screenshot.

thanks for your reply. 

 

This is exactly the mail I referred to. It contained statistics about the work space. Unfortunately, it does not help us that users have to disable subscriptions for mail notifications on their own, because we (as admins) do not want users to be able to retrieve such information at all.

Is it possible to:

- avoid such mails to all users from you side in general (containing confidential information)

- provide an admin configuration which allows to disable notifications to all users in a work space

Hi Andreas,

The email from my example was a marketing email, and so the same email would have gone out to everyone. It does not include any site-specific information.

If your users received an email that contained confidential information that they weren't supposed to receive, then we would need to see that email. In that case, raise a support case with the Cloud team, including a copy of that email, and we can have a look.

Let me know if you have any questions about that.

Hi Shannon,

the mail users received (the one you've mentioned above) included an additional header with information about:

  • New content x pages created and edited
  • Team collaboration y comments, likes and shares
  • Site momentum z active users

I will forward the mail to the address you have mentioned.

I can confirm we received it and my colleague Gerson is having a look at it already for you.

I'll watch that ticket and update here with what we find out and any information about how to prevent users you don't want from receiving that email.

I heard from Gerson that you were able to have your users disable their marketing emails so that they would no longer receive these types of emails.

I have an open question pending on your side.

The process is still in progress / my questions are pending.

It does not help us, if users disable it on their own. We have to be able to disable it globally.
