How to customize the default login auth error page?

Hi,

Is there a way to customize this default auth error page? I want to be able to add a link and some custom text to it. Not able locate the exact template from which this is picked up from.

Appreciate any insights!

Hello Sameer, I believe the message is pulled from the atlassian-authentication-plugin-x.x.x.jar file in (Confluence Installation Directory)/confluence/WEB-INF/atlassian-bundled-plugins.

You can try extracting the jar file using and look for the error-page-generic.soy file in the templates folder.
This seems to be the file that controls the error message above.

Do try editing the file, zipping the file back in and replacing the original atlassian-authentication-plugin-x.x.x.jar file. (Please make sure to make a backup)

Once that's done, make sure to clear the Confluence plugin cache, and see if the changes stick.

Let me know how it goes Sameer.

Cheers,
Sattesh

Awesome! Thanks Sattesh!

Would you also kindly share how to get that page. :)

We have LDAP sync configured. I tried removing the group, so that the user becomes disabled. When I try to login using that user, I'm getting a login failure (form based login) and not that screen. Confused how I got to that screen before.

Never mind. I just saw it's a SAML assertion error. So, need to configure SAML based login.
