How to create a link to an anchor using unique page name from share - copy link

Alex Morgan May 26, 2021

I want to link to an anchor on a confluence page. I can do this successfully if I just dump the anchor onto the end of the page name from the browser nav bar, but I can't seem to get an anchor to work using the page link you get when you click the share button top right and then click copy link.

So this format works: https://mycompany.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BLAH/pages/597950483/Interesting-Page-Title#94506

This format doesn't: https://mycompany.atlassian.net/l/c/jM9SyVjb#94506

Page names change as our project evolves so I don't want to use the explicit page name based on the current title of the page or my links will keep breaking.

Hi @Alex morgan

You can use this instead:

https://mycompany.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BLAH/pages/597950483#94506

I've just tested it on my instance, and I confirm that it works! The page id will always stays the same, so there is no need to change it :)

Hi Alex,

Thanks a lot for testing that and apologies for the delay in responding.

This is awesome.
