When talking about "Confluence sides", I support you don't mean a site (as in <sitename>.atlassian.net). I assume that you are talking about Confluence pages (in Spaces).

Are you talking about space permissions (who can view/edit the space) or page restrictions (who can view/edit a specific page within a space)?

correct : I mean 1000's  of pages under a  tree and will other people in this area not allow to edit anything
