How to change Confluence instance and/or templates from German to English

Hello,

I'm a trial user and have just created a Confluence instance. As my computer and browser settings are in German, Confluence chose German as language.

I have tried to set my browser language to English, and also changed the global language to English. I have logged out and in to my account and restarted the browser as well. 

Nothing changes. Is there a way to get at least English templates instead of German ones?

Hi Verena, 

clicking your profile -> picture in the top right corner -> personal settings -> change language by clicking on the link to the personal preference site where you now select english this should set your personal settings to english too. 

Now your templates should automatically start in the english language if not feel free to get back to me.

Hi @Verena Kunz-Gehrmann, welcome to the community.

Regarding to your situation, you have to change the preferred language setting in your Atlassian account.

First, click your avatar icon and choose Manage Account.

Then, go to Account preferences.

 

Now you can change the language you want to use in Confluence (and everywhere else in Atlassian)

That's in the settings: Click your profile -> Settings (top right corner)
(or go to /wiki/users/viewmysettings.action).

Those settings are specific to Confluence.
