Perhaps adjust width of the period on display in the roadmap also?
There is no way to change the Roadmap Planner to quarterly. (see the documentation)
This macro does not use the macro browser to set parameters. You also cannot add this macro via wiki markup or by editing the storage format directly.

Seems logical that the timeline should accommodate quarterly and yearly views. Any chance there is a plan to add/improve this?

+1 to this. I am surprised a quarterly view was not built from the start. Are there any plans to include this?

+1. I get that Atlassian is attempting to drive customers to Advanced Roadmaps which does support each of Quarters, Years and custom-range, but this is petty.

+1, It's astonishing the time this has been on under evaluation, a roadmap that displays an arbitrary lapse is just ...

Surprising for me. Product roadmaps last for years. Please provide support for quarterly and yearly view. It is a must feature. Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone,
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-40793 is the related issue.
It has been open since February 2016.
Using Gantt Chart Planner for Confluence is an option to resolve this problem.
It has flexible timeline features.
Maybe, it's superfluous to install an app to resolve only this problem.
But, the app provides various useful features to draw a roadmap such as WBS, resources, and dependencies so that it may help you in many aspects of drawing roadmaps.
A demo video is here.
There are also some other apps providing roadmap features.
(Disclaimer: I'm one of the folks in the vendor.)
