When attaching an Excel file, I just want the user to go directly to download and not have to preview as the file contains too much data to view clearly in preview mode.

Hi @Xavier Pedroza ,
welcome to the Atlassian community!
You can add a link to the attachment instead of attachment macro. Here an useful guide https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/insert-links-and-anchors/
Hope this helps,
Fabio

Hi @Xavier Pedroza welcome to the Atlassian community.
May we know how previewing is a hindrance to the work!! Preview itself means a glimpse of how the document or screen looks.
And now a days I see many applications going with the preview option as part of user friendly UI.

It's not a hindrance. It's a preference to just download the file for use, in this case a template excel file. In the case of a pdf or word document, a preview is useful but in this case it's not.
I'm not looking to justify the question, I just need a way to remove the preview. Thank you.
