When attaching an Excel file, I just want the user to go directly to download and not have to preview as the file contains too much data to view clearly in preview mode.

May we know how previewing is a hindrance to the work!! Preview itself means a glimpse of how the document or screen looks.
And now a days I see many applications going with the preview option as part of user friendly UI.

It's not a hindrance. It's a preference to just download the file for use, in this case a template excel file. In the case of a pdf or word document, a preview is useful but in this case it's not.
I'm not looking to justify the question, I just need a way to remove the preview. Thank you.
