How do you edit a new blank page?

Very frustrated user here- since the old black page template has been removed, I can't create new blank pages using the new template as everything is greyed out- I can't edit the contents, use any of the options or publish. This is the case for every space I'm a part of, even my own personal space. Am I missing something glaringly obvious or is this an outstanding bug?

Ian,

Welcome to Atlassian Community. It's nice to have you.

I've not run into a bug like this myself, but generally the page will be greyed out either if there's no title yet, or your network is preventing you from doing so.

In that case, you might be affected by the following bug:

  • CONFCLOUD-68168 Edit functions are grayed out in Confluence Cloud for certain users

If WebSocket Secure fails, we fall back to WS (non-secure WebSocket). But in new editor pages, the fall back does not happen (not supported). The ticket above is opened to enable fall back on new editor pages as well.

So we would like to suggest the following workaround:

  • Use Firefox with a manual proxy when editing in Confluence.
  • Contact your organization's IT/network team to allow WSS connections

Let me know how that works out for you.

Regards,

Shannon
