How do we search for a page specifying the status macro field name?

I used the status macro to include a customized field:  e.g. status:  public.

How do i search this status field?

With the search syntax of confluence you can easily search for macros. And then, you can combine it with the text which is in the status macro.

Then your search might look something like

macroName:status* AND public
