How do I stop the deactivation of my confluence account ?

Omasha Katuwapitiya September 20, 2023

I received an email today with the below content from Atalassian.

We're reaching out to let you know that your Confluence product, on site eflcorporateplanning.atlassian.net, has been deactivated due to an extended period of not being used. You will no longer be able to access this product, and any data associated with this product will be permanently deleted soon. This does not affect any other products that you are actively using.

We’ve also cancelled all subscriptions to Atlassian apps, including those from Marketplace Partners.

If you need assistance or have questions, please contact us immediately.

Cheers,
The Atlassian Team

How do I stop the deactivation from happening?

Thank you for your advice!

HI @Omasha Katuwapitiya ,

This seems like a spam/phishing link, "please contact us immediately.", the Contact Us opens to this : https://protect-eu.mimecast.com, which seems legit but I'm not too certain of Atlassian using a Redirection link.

The other point : "deactivated due to an extended period of not being used", this is due to your product not being accessed in the last 120 days or more : https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/what-is-the-free-jira-cloud-plan/#Inactive-Free-products-will-be-deactivated.

Found a detailed answer here https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/what-is-the-free-jira-cloud-plan/#Inactive-Free-products-will-be-deactivated, but no official documentation found that supports all the information provided here.

@Jehan Bhathena

The "contact us" link has been modified by the recipient's email system.

"Mimecast combines URL protection with a comprehensive suite of advanced cyber protection tools to defend organizations from email-borne threats."

That isn't the original link included in the email by Atlassian.

Got it

Thanks @Trudy Claspill

Hi Jehan,

Thank you for voicing out your concerns. Like Trudy mentioned, mimecast is a security feature used by the company I work for.

I reached out to the the support contact on Attalasian and they wrote back to me saying the deactivation will not be progressed further.

Thank you for all the advice :)

Hello @Omasha Katuwapitiya

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

To get an inactive deactivated site reactivated the support portal entry of https://support.atlassian.com/contact/#/?inquiry_category=billing_licensing&reason=access_issues&support_type=customer

should allow a site-admin to create a ticket with Altassian's CA team that can review and possibly reactivate the site.

Hi Trudy,

Thank you! Followed your advice and raised a ticket and an agent got in touch with me. Problem is solved and the deactivation of my account will not be progressed. All is well now.

Thank you for all the help! :)
