How do I define a default sorting column in confluence?

I am collecting the team's travel dates in a confluence table. To ensure a good overview I'd like to add a "default-sorting" (ASC) to the table's first column (the date). The result should be a sorted table when viewed and (that is no problem) a unsorted table when edited.

Is that possible?

Hi Sebastian,

We've got an open source plugin that is both available and maintained for free, the Table Enhancer for Confluence.  It can do exactly what you asked for (just define the sortColumn parameter) and much more.

The documentation is here:

Hi Sebastian,

Unfortunately, Confluence does not have such feature at the moment. We do have an improvement request regarding this issue here:

Please give your vote on this issue to raise the popularity of the request. I have added my vote as well to help increase the popularity of it.

Thank you!

This would be very handy indeed. A bit surprised it is not there already.

Table Plus Macro (part of Advanced Tables for Confluence) has a sortColumn parameter that will auto sort by that column on initial view.
