How do I add multiple spaces to Recently Updated macro in Confluence?

I would like to configure the Recently Updated macro in Confluence Cloud to pull from multiple spaces, but not all spaces. The instructions in the configuration area for Space(s) says:

"These are case-sensitive. Separate each item with a comma or single space. Example: SPACEKEY,@personal or @AlL. If not specified, the current space is searched."

I've tried to put in multiple SPACEKEYs separated by commas as instructed, but it just defaults back to me only being able to pick one space or use @Personal, or @AlL. The selection tool in this Space(s) field works differently than the one in the Recently Updated Dashboard macro. I can do what I want in the dashboard macro, but not in this macro.

Does anyone know how to make this work?

Here is what I heard back from Support: Thank you for the detailed description and the link for the community discussion there, it was really helpful to understand the problem you were facing there.

Upon checking the macro behavior on a test instance, I could replicate the behavior described on a new editor page using the Recently Updated macro.

Indeed, accordingly, to our documentation (, it says it should be possible to choose multiple spaces, not only one, as you mentioned, and for that reason, I have created the following bug, for our development team awareness, to have a fix for it at a code level:

Feel free to add yourself to a watcher of the report to receive all the updates for the bug, and add any feedback there as well.

At this moment, we don't have a valid workaround for this issue, but we will be updating the bug report in case we find any workaround solutions while the bug is not fixed.

That being said, since all updates will be shared on the bug ( , by or development team, we would like to suggest this ticket resolution, but please let us know if there is anything else we can help you with at the moment.

Thank you for sharing @Keeley Sorokti , so you have found a bug :)
I have voted for this issue and started watching it for updates.

@Kishan Sharma how about Atlassian update their documentation page regarding this, the issue has been around for 9 months at least - another issue with the new editor grrr, there was nothing wrong with the old one - could have saved me some time as i just moved a bunch of pages into a new space so i could exclude them from the Recently Updated list, as per your documentation said i could. Pretty frustrated.

Hi @Aaron Steinmetz I agree, the documentation should be updated by Atlassian until there's a fix available instead of users trying it and finding out themselves about this bug. I would suggest you to add it as a comment on and also by clicking on "Provide feedback about this article" link in the footer of Insert the recently updated macro page, .

Hi @Keeley Sorokti I am experiencing same behavior as you i.e I cannot add multiple spaces separated by comma or space in "Recently Updated" macro where as it works in "Recently Updated Dashboard" macro. Not sure if its a bug. I would suggest raising a support ticket to Atlassian Support to confirm.

I just confirmed the behavior in both my company's instance and the Atlassian Community Leaders instance. It sounds like a bug, but I agree with @Kishan Sharma - report it to Atlassian first; if it's a bug they will open a bug report.

Thank you @Esther Strom for testing.
@Keeley Sorokti If you raise a ticket, please also post it here about the solution/workaround suggested by Atlassian.

That is what I figured - this seems like a bug to me. Thanks for testing it and confirming for me.
