I was adding content to a Confluence page during a meeting, and clicked the wrong button somehow and the content disappeared. While I had not 'Published' the page updates for a period, it was still showing as 'Saved' while I was entering content. However I cannot locate a version of the unpublished page with those changes - it could not be accessed by undoing, going backwards in Chrome, and is not visible in 'Drafts' or as a 'Previous Version'.
Is there anyway to recover this content, or is it gone forever?
Hi @Donna Annetta ,
Welcome to the community !!
Thank you for the feedback below.
I was editing an existing page, which I also Published part way through the meeting, and then continued to add text into. it in Edit mode Looking at the History, the only version I can see is the previously Published version. However, the top of the screen was showing the work as 'Saved' throughout.
Did you click on Edit icon on the present page and check if the unsaved changes are present or not ?
When you are modifying the page, the changes are saved as draft. It is showed only in page after you click Publish, till then it will be drafts.
Version of a page is created only when you click on Publish
Thanks again Rilwan. We went back to Edit a few times yesterday, and history, and nothing was available.
I think I have to accept all of my work is gone, despite the indication it was 'saving' in some capacity as I worked. I guess I'm used to Microsoft, and will need to remember when using Confluence to hit 'Publish' more often, or go back to Word.
