Hi there,
Hope you're well!
I have a regular .xls Excel file at 861KB that I want to upload and insert as an Office Excel Macro to one of my Pages in Confluence.
The system seems to get stuck at this point, and I cannot insert the macro.
Please can someone advise as to what I'm doing that's wrong?
Additionally, instead of adding a Macro of Office Excel, can you recommend any other Macros in Confluence that are as advanced as Excel?
Thanks!
Hi @Francesca Baldwin ,
It seems that you are doing everything right. I've checked this macro in our test environment and got the following result:
Works if you search for an attachment on the current page ->
Doesn't work if you try to browse for the Excel file on some other pages ->
Couldn't get a preview and save the macro - seems like the search mechanism is broken.
So we can suggest using the Table from CSV macro that is provided by the Table Filter and Charts for Confluence app.
It works with CSV attachments both on the current page and any other pages from your Confluence instance.
Current page ->
Another page ->
And note that the result table looks like a native Confluence table.
Hi Katerina,
Thanks for your detailed reply, I appreciate the time you spent looking into this.
So do you think that there is no other way I can use Excel in Confluence without buying the Table Filter and Charts for Confluence app?
Many thanks,
Francesca

Try to raise a support ticket for the Atlassian and, as for now, attach your files to the current page only. Seems that smth is wrong with the Excel macro search.
