Hi everybody,
We have changed the product name of one of our software products. I need to replace the old with the new name. I do not want to do this manually for over 100 articles.
So my goal is e.g. to replace every "ABC" with "DEF". Is there another way to do it?
Thank you
Claudio
There are a few ways:
1. You can search and replace text in Confluence by pressing CTRL-F while in edit mode. A new headerbar will appear where you can search and replace. This is applicable for a single page only.
2. Use a third party macros.
3. Use Scriptrunner.
If you have ScriptRunner for Confluence Cloud you can find and replace text across your entire space with one click.
There's a script you can copy and paste into the Script Console and run. It is available here: https://library.adaptavist.com/entity/find-and-replace-text-across-space
Kindly Accept and Vote if it helps.
Regards

Hello @Claudio Alves and welcome.
I tested Find and Replace by EasyApps on phrases individual words and it worked well.
HOWEVER, and it applies to any search and replace app or method, one needs to be very careful to avoid wrecking their content. Replacing OMNIA with MOX worked well as those are unique words, product names in fac.
But anything that's a dictionary word.... tread carefully :)

@Claudio Alves some great advice from @Kristian Klima .
I am a co-founder Easy Apps, the maker of Find and Replace by Easy Apps which @Kristian Klima suggests you try.
A tip if you try our app. When possible select case sensitive. Then after you make the change do the same search without selecting case sensitive. It might allow you to have one search which is easy to confirm, and then one where you have to look carefully (preview has a link to the page). It's not perfect but at times it can reduce errors and is a good way to ensure you didn't miss anything. You might even find mistakes that were missed previously.
We went out of our way to ensure the preview is detailed so that you can click Replace with confidence.
If you have more content editing needs and care about value for money then look at Space Content Manager. It includes the same find and replace feature, plus others like a label manager. We are actively adding features.
All our apps are built in Forge.

I forgot to mention that you can also restrict access by space, user or group. Example only space admins can use find and replace or only certain groups can use label manager.
All these bulk editing tools are great, but you can decide who can do what. Each organization is unique.

@Admin we do not have a data center version. Best thing is to tell us about your use case in a support ticket.
