Without getting into why this is the case - because I cannot change this - I am using a shared space that will have multiple meeting notes nodes. I would like to create a link that will create a new meeting note under a particular parent page. I can do this for custom templates but I cannot find a way to do this for meeting notes.
Side note, I do not have admin rights on the system I want to do this on.
Hello Robert,
Thank you for contacting us about this.
Can you clarify - by nodes, do you mean parent pages? Thus, meetings are broken down into main categories and you want to organize the individual meeting notes this way instead of under one parent page. Is that correct?
If so, when you create a page from a template, it will automatically make the current page you are on the parent. There's not a way to force the parent page from a single link. Normally I would advise the Create from Template Macro, but this doesn't allow you to choose a specific parent page. (There's a feature request for that here: CONFSERVER-33098.)
You might be able to build that from a URL, as is suggested from this thread:
You'll need to figure out the meeting template ID as well as the space and page ID that you want the parent to be, but I bet you could create a separate link for each meeting notes "node" that you require.
Let me know if you have any questions about that.
Regards,
Shannon
I wanted to trigger the template from a link but I don't see a way to find the meeting notes template ID. It is a blueprint, so it seems like the ID is not the same.
Also, side note, I don't have admin access. I was hoping the ID was constant.

Robert,
Each Blueprint is a set of templates. The templates will have static IDs within the site, but it changes from site to site. Your admin will need to help you to obtain the template ID for your site.
Otherwise, I recommend the Create from Template macro. You can place that macro on the desired parent page, and any pages created from that macro will be children of that page.

Shannon

The meeting notes template ID isn't a standard, built in ID? I understand custom templates will be different but this is a built in template. Jira master object IDs seem to be consistent from install to install.
