I have a series of Confluence pages. In one specific confluence page, I have a link for an uploaded text document.
In Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Edge, right-mouse clicking and selecting "Open in new window" opens the text document in a way that I can see and access the content.
However, when left-mouse clicking on the same link, it opens successfully in Internet Explorer only. In Firefox and Edge a new screen shows but the content is not visible. Strangely enough though, you can still highlight something on the page and it shows you the outline of the text.
I would just like the document to open by left-clicking in the other browsers. I don't mind if it opens in a new window or within the same window.
Maybe the text is rendering in White color and you are not able to see the text?
Follow this procedure and check whether you face the same problem
First, attach the document to a page via attachments, then add it to a page via a macro and check the rendering!!
Thanks,
Pramodh
Hi Pramodh,
Thank you for your response.
I did a view page source on the IE screen (visible content) and also the Firefox screen (blank content) to see if there was a reference to the font color. Very interesting results. Even though it came from the same link, the resulting code was different. Unfortunately I couldn't see anything about font colors.
As for your suggestion about macros, I am unsure what that entails, so I will need to discuss that with one of our local Confluence gurus.
Cheers,
James

I have worked out how to include images, so I will attach my screenshots of what I can see at my end....
All browsers show correctly for the confluence page showing the link
When I click on the link from within IE I get the following :-
When I click on the same link from within Firefox I get the following :-
So it may look like a blank screen, but there something on the page as I can select it and it shows as highlighted but you still can't see the actual content. Image below :-
The symptoms that I get with Firefox, I also get the same issue with Edge.
I hope this extra information makes it clearer as to what my issue is.

@James Jenkins welcome to the Atlassian community
I have never had this issue on server and am not able to recreate it. Since you are on server it could be an app or customization that is altering the text color in the browser. It sounds like a CSS formating issue since it is not an issue when opening in a new window. You should check with your Jira administrator and see if any custom CSS has been added to your instance.

Thanks Brant for your response.
It's weird that it works fine in IE, but would indicate that it is likely to be a rendering issue.
I have added some additional information (incl screen shots) to hopefully get a successful resolution to my issue.
