Today I moved a folder from one space to another. The folder contained a saved draft.
In the destination space I see the folder, but it shows "There's nothing in this folder yet."
I've searched the trash and archives, but the document is gone.
I than moved the folder back to the source space, and the draft reappeared beneath the moved folder.
Are folder including content moves not supported, and can Confluence be updated to enable Folder moves that include folder content? Minimally, perhaps, when the folder moves its contents move up a level in the source space without going to... nowhere?
Thank you.
Hello @Chris Chambers
Currently, Confluence Cloud does not offer a direct feature to move drafts (unpublished pages) between spaces.
You have attempted to move a folder or page that contains a draft as a child. If you try to move the draft directly, you will notice that it is not permitted(no option is available).
Likewise, if a draft is nested under a folder or a published page, the draft will not be relocated. If you need to transfer content from a draft in one space to another, a common workaround is to publish the draft in its current location and then move the published page to the desired space.
Thanks,
Dhanush
Thank you. I don't expect to need to move any drafts in the future.

Hey!
I am the PM for Folders. Thank you for raising this. We investigated and found it is a bug that we cannot move drafts. Our team is working on it to resolve it right now!

I just moved a folder with a page between two spaces without issues.
Can you clarify what you mean by a 'saved draft'?
Is it about live editing or do you have a workflow app?

I had a doc in draft within the folder. By 'saved draft' I meant it showed 'saved' next to my user icon at the top of the page. Floating my mouse over 'saved' now shows "Every change is saved. The last change was a moment ago." The doc had not been published.
But the draft/page was completely gone after I'd moved its parent folder from one space to another. The draft/page reappeared, within the folder, once I'd moved the folder back to the original space.

sorry, missed this: "Is it about live editing or do you have a workflow app?"
I was in Confluence and had simply created a page. No workflow involved, so I guess that's 'live editing.'

I've just moved a Folder with two saved drafts in live edit mode between two spaces and... it worked.
I wonder if this could be a permission/restrictions issue...
I'm going to request help :)

The move was from a team's/group's space to my 'personal' space within Confluence. Not sure if that makes a difference since I was the owner of the folder, the draft, and my space?

I moved a folder with two pages from a regular space to my own personal space and back. I requested help from Support so I hope we'll get some insight on this.
