Export-Update-Import a Confluence space

Betsen Baby November 2, 2016

Dear Community,

We have a confluence(on premise) wiki space(~200 pages) which is with other spaces in the instance. We need to do a complete update of the current wiki. As multiple people does the update, then validated by others before publish, we don't want to do it in the live public facing wiki.

Is it possible to export the space to a new development instance, make the changes there and finally replace the current live space by the updated space from dev?

Please let us know your suggestions

Many thanks in advance,

Best regards,

Betsen

Yes, but you can't overwrite spaces in Confluence: if the space already exists in the instance, it must be deleted before the updated space can be imported.

Thank you for your quick answer. a subsequent question to the above is about the plugins(gliffy, service rockets etc...) and themes(refined wiki) that is currently used. what precautions should we take while exporting/importing
