Expand/collapse Table content in confluence

Arya Soman March 26, 2023

Hi All,

We have a requirement where we need to collapse some table columns and to expand it only when required.
We do know about the below ways:
1. Using Expand Macro
2. Freezing N Table columns using Table filter macro
3. Hide Table columns using Table filter macro

But what we actually want is if we have 10 columns in a table we want to display only 5 columns to the users but need to collapse remaining columns and expand it only by clicking on some links and until then only 5 columns should be displayed in the confluence page.

Can anyone suggest me a method to resolve this issue.

Thank you

Hi @Arya Soman,

As you’ve mentioned that you have our Table Filter and Charts for Confluence app, you may use its Table Spreadsheet macro for the case.

The macro allows you to use the Excel-like “Hide selected column”/”Show hidden column” features

@Katerina Rudkovskaya [Stiltsoft] Is group/ungroup columns function also available  in Table Spreadsheet for a table and where to find that function?  Thanks.

Hi @Arya Soman

With an advanced expand macro by Content formatting macros for Confluence you can add an expanding option to your table cells, background or tabs.

But this feature is available for Confluence Cloud only (for a case if you migrate)
