Does anyone have examples of businesses using the Confluence knowledgebase? We'd like to see some working sites that are using it before we try a test run. Suggestions?

Hi @Tami_Sutcliffe and welcome!

In addition to making excellent Jira apps (formerly add-ons), Tempo uses a Confluence KB tied to their Jira Service Desk for product support.  The link takes you to the "Tempo Customer Support" portal where they have the KB function tied in.

Here's a couple of screenshots (as one has to sign up for an account on their helpdesk site in order to enter and you may not wish to do so):

Notice how when I typed "timesheet" in the Summary, KB articles appeared on the right hand side of the screen.  If I click one, I get:

this pop-over view of a confluence page, complete with a feedback request at the bottom.

Botron Software is another Atlassian App vendor who uses Jira and Confluence to provide a KB for their help desk.  Again, have to sign up - sorry. :-(

I can't provide my favorite one, unfortunately, because my former employer has it behind a firewall. :-(

Hope this answers your questions, if so, please consider clicking the "Accept Answer" button so others benefit from the "answered" flag on their search results.  Thanks!

Thanks for the links, Larry. These are very helpful.

It is curious that so many KBs are behind firewalls.

Seems like it kind of defeats the purpose of putting all that good knowledge out there, doesn't it??

I know there are hassles with delivering a KB live, allowing users to leave comments and such, and, of course, you want to collect those valuable analytics that arent as valuable if you just have generic unregistered users.

Still - it would be nice to see more KBs that are public. (IMO)

I'm sure there are plenty out there @Tami_Sutcliffe - I just need the Google-fu to figure out a search that would be able to detect them. :-)
