Escaping a backslash

Ajay Garg January 31, 2013

Yesterday, we migrated from confleunce 2.7 to 4.x. Since the migration, links with a backslash in them are broken. In v 2.7, I had to escape the backslash with another backslash to make it work. Now, nothing works. 1 backslash or 2 - nothing works. For example,

In 2.7, this one worked nice:

[SQLCLUS1\SQL1|http://wiki/display/DBA/Details?run_1_cat=Servers&run_1_obj=SQLCLUS1\\SQL1&run_1=run]

In 4.x, this one displays as a hyperlink (the actual link is of course incorrect and so, when clicked does not render the page):

[SQLCLUS1\SQL1|http://wiki/display/DBA/Details?run_1_cat=Servers&run_1_obj=SQLCLUS1&run_1=run]

this one does not display a hyperlink (this is supposed to be the actual link):

[SQLCLUS1\SQL1|http://wiki/display/DBA/Details?run_1_cat=Servers&run_1_obj=SQLCLUS1\SQL1&run_1=run]

Any ideas?

A colleague of mine suggested using %5C to replace a backslash. It worked like a charm.

Hi Ajay,

Becuase of the new editor in Confluence 4.x you can use the insert link option. I believe this is the best option for this case

Cheers

The above code is generated by a sql server stored procedure. How do I do this in there?
