Download function in Confluence Whiteboards

After testing out Whiteboards for a while, we are now promoting it further within our company. With a growing user base there come the questions.

Some users found out, that there is a download function. Not for the whole board, but for single/grouped elements. However, this is not mentioned in the user documentation and the button/option doesn't appear in the context menue consistently.

The question is: when do you get the option to download elements?

Note: I am not looking for an export function for the whole board - that has been answered: Solved: Export Whiteboard to Print or PDF (atlassian.com)

Based on my experience using Whiteboards, this download option is only for external media that you embed into the board (i.e. images), which is not exactly an element like "Section".

That explains it, thanks! 

Seems like a useless feature.. being able to download stuff you uploaded before but not being able to download other content.

Let's hope the Export function will be available soon ;)
