Crowd for Users, and Confluence for Permissions and Groups

Jennifer Redman August 28, 2012

Is it possible to use AD via Crowd to Confluence (and Jira) for user authentication (and ACLs), but use Confluence or Jira for group management. I'd rather not set up the groups in AD - I'd like the flexiblity to allow people to admin groups in Confluence but not in AD.

Thanks,

Jen

Hello Jennifer,

Actually the Crowd is read-write with any Atlassian product, so you will be able to edit the groups from Confluence/JIRA that are stored inside Crowd.

So in a nutshell you can add AD to your Crowd, and then Add this users to your Confluence/JIRA and then manage them inside it.

Hope this helps!
