Ok--I'm a confluence newbie. Trying to create a space page for my team. It's a mess. The content and graphics are distorted every time the page tree side margin is expanded. How do I freeze the headlines, graphics and copy?
Can you show us the page - ideally when it looks correct and when it gets distorted?
I'm working from just my laptop today so you will see two screen shots:
this one is when (or would be when) the screen is mostly stretched out
This is when the page tree is opened.
As mentioned in my original email--while Confluence is my team's choice of tools, it's not intuitive and the instructions are really for engineers and coders, which make it difficult to use for a non-tech who is chartered with creating a team space (there must be more out there like me!). Thanks in advance for your help. Are there are online courses specifically designed for "space creators"?

Yes, it can be a bit tricky to get started. There are some third-party add ons that might help, but another option is to ask your administrator if you can work with someone to create some "user macros" that can help you get more control over your layout.
However, for this page you could try the Gallery Macro https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/gallery-macro-139434.html but you need to configure it just to show 1 image. You do this be entering the filename of your images into the "Include these Images Only" option.
You should find the images are more responsive.
Unfortunately, there is much we can about the left and right hand columns, as they contain text.
