Hi,
I'm searching for a way to be able to reply to update notifications from Confluence via email. The answer would then be added as a comment to the page.
I've had a look at several email plugins like
https://plugins.atlassian.com/plugin/details/21973
https://plugins.atlassian.com/plugin/details/264
https://plugins.atlassian.com/plugin/details/13214
The problems with these plugins are:
- They mainly focus on creating content
- User have to have special knowledge about how to send the email: eg. use special email addresses or use wiki markup in the subject line
The goal would be to provide a basecamp-like functionality that allows email based communication. Someone starts a thread and people can comment on it by answering via email.
Thanks a lot for your ideas, cheers
Peter
I know this is not exactly what you asked for....but anyway, in the update notification e-mails that I get, there is a link at the bottom of the page content, "Add Comment." By clicking that link, the page appears and the insertion point is in the comment box. Doing it this way adds a comment that's immediately part of the page, without having to send an email.
Hi Peter,
There's an open improvement request regarding this ability here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-5002
Make sure you vote for it and add yourself as a watcher to keep track of its process.
Cheers!
