When I copy/paste formatted text (a list of items and subitems) from Microsoft Word to Confluence, it looks fine before and immediately after saving. But a while thereafter, probably after someone else edited the Confluence page, the items of my list change order and the hierarchy of sub-items is changed as well. Is there a way to fix this?

Hello @Torsten Franke ,

When you copy/paste content from any HTML/XML based source (from some site or document), it is copied with underlying format and is preserved in the Confluence page editor - it can seem OK to the eye, but it will contain some <span>, <div> and other elements with styles that break a lot of things.

It is often better to check the Storage format of the page and see what elements should be cleared or fixed.

If you copy/paste simpler text with no complex formatting, you can copy/paste via the text editor to first remove the hidden formatting.
