Confluence rest API to get JIRA issue details throws 404

I am using confluence 6.4 version and jira 8.x

While I try to invoke the rest API to fetch jira detail using the jql I get 404 

<Confluence URL>/plugins/servlet/applinks/proxy?appId=<UUID>&path=<JIRA URL>/rest/api/2/search/jql=<YOUR_JQL>

This worked for me in confluence 7.x 

I don't see the javadocs for these APIs  has anyone been able to make a get request.from.confluence to fetch an.issue details.

Trying for a get issue details from confluence using the applink to call thr jira rest API. My confluence version is 6.4
