Confluence crashing once a day but the logs does not show anything

Shreyance Shaw

Hi All,

Our confluence 5.3 instance goes down once a day, we are still trying to find out what is the reason but have not been able to do so.

When the application goes down, the service is still up and running, we have to restart the service in order to bring up the application.

Can someone let us know where we can start looking ?

We are using PostGres Database, which is installed on the same machine where Confluence is installed.

We have a memory of 8 GB RAM.

Thanks,

Shreyance

Heya Shreyance,

Generally Confluence crashes could be related to many symptoms. In our case, it could be related to external plugins, customisations, content ocnsuming too much CPU or memory errors in the instance, which we may need to increase.

So, to first start taking a look at this, without the logs, you might been interested to take a look at the following article:

Troubleshooting Confluence Hanging or Crashing

After that, if you don't have any clues, please, feel free to raise a new ticket in our Atlassian Support Channel.

Hope it helps ya!

Cheers,

Giu
