Confluence attachment names - how to display complete attachment name (not truncated)

Lourdes Gonzalez August 22, 2012

Has anyone else experienced frustration trying to hover over the attachments list in order to see the full name of the file, instead of the currently displayed truncated version?

I know there was a plugin that worked with 3.5 when we were hosting via a third party, but not sure if this plugin is still available and if it works with 4.2 OnDemand?

This is HUGELY frustrating when trying to find an attachment in a long list, one of the reasons Confluence is supposed to be superior as a shared content repository/knowledge base, right? Well, this is just WRONG and I wish Atlassian would implement this fairly easy fix from what I'm told by several developers. Which module contains the source code for the attachment name editor and can it be modified?

This is not currently possible. You can vote for https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-22002 to get it implemented. As per https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-25689 it's possible to patch some files to get this to work, but this isn't allowed on OnDemand.
