In Confluence 4.0 (or newer) I would like to know if it is possible to use templates to automatically create MULTIPLE pages and perhaps SUB-PAGES. For example I would like a Page with content created and 4 pages under it (as child pages) and perhaps a hierarchy of other pages created below those pages) all from 1 template. Any ideas?
We have a Feature to create pages using a Template through Confluence, but, unfortunately, to add multiple pages regarding a template isn't a feature on Confluence. It's an interesting question to have this Feature on Confluence, work on it with developers.
The best I can provide to you at the moment is to create a page with template on Confluence:
And also, the copy Space plugin, that allows you to copy multiple spaces with some information on it:
Hope it helps you!
Our add-on Yoikee Creator allows you to create space templates (i.e., space blueprints) by means of mind maps. You draw the structure of your space template in a mind map, where the nodes become pages in the space. Thus, the hierarchy of nodes-sub nodes become the structure of pages-sub pages in the space.
So, you create once a mind map, and you can create as many spaces as you need with the same structure of pages (consistent spaces).
Give it a try and send us feedback!
We are about to release the 2.0 version, where you can choose page blueprints in the nodes (JIRA reports, blog post, file list, etc), mind maps can be embedded on pages, new rendering engine, and many more new features.
Our Page Tree Creator can do your job without any programming.
Marketplace User review for our Page Tree Creator:
Page Tree Creator is absolutely fantastic. It is simple to use, well documented, and has great functionality. One of our departments has a 20+ page structure that they want in place for each of the companies they track. It took me less than an hour to set up Page Tree Creator such that they can go to a page, enter the name of a new company, click a button and immediately have the entire structure built out for that company. It plugs the company name into every page title to keep pages unique. We maintain a tree of the template pages to use and everything on those pages ends up in the new pages, any text, labels, macros. Very powerful and a huge time savings.
