Changing Tomcat Attachment Size for Confluence

David Wood March 22, 2021

Hi,

Within our confluence enviroment we allow attachments up to 500MB. However confluence will fail to upload anything larger than 30MB. When attempting to do this an error pops up something like  “Invalid response received from the server”  or “confluence the server is not responding.

How can we allow our proxy or Tomcat to play nice and support larger attachments?

Thanks,

David

@David Wood

If you are positive that upload settings on the application and application server are setup correctly I would do the following:

  • Make sure that the files can be uploaded without the proxy in place
    • If it does not work without the proxy in place you should be able to see the issue in the logs
  • If you are able to upload without the proxy on then it is a proxy issue and you would just need to ensure that the proxy is setup properly.  Most likely this is a session issue.  I would suggest looking there first.
