I configured Confluence by linking to our Jira platform.
At this point we will need only 10 licenses for confluence. However I assign in configuration the jira-servicedesk-users group for confluence editing.
This group currently has 23 users. I need to make the group change, creating in Jira a group called jira-confluence-users.
How do I do this?
Licensing in Confluence is controlled by the "can use" global permission. The Confluence global permissions are at Confluence Admin>Global Permissions. If you add the desired group to the Global permissions and grant Can Use they will be able to log into Confluence.
Disabled users will not be able to use Confluence, as you observed.
As it mentions in How to get a list of active users counting towards the Confluence license:
Confluence's license count is based on Global Permissions. Users will count towards the license in the following ways:
If the user is a member of a group that has global permissions to use Confluence
If the user is individually granted global permissions to use Confluence
@Bruno Soares, you will need to create a new group and add those 10 users.
Once you have you group created, you can use that one for Confluence.
@Peter DeWittTy for your response.
I created the group , so now I Want to change in Confluence the license group in jira.
Edit: I Found the user in admin of confluence and Disable this user. Decreased the number os licenses in confluence, but disable the user in Jira too.
I think , as I disable this users, they cannot use confluence anymore.
How do I Change the group that confluence get the licenses ?
