We have built a diagram with many images in it in draw.io within a Confluence page. We were able to save and publish the document regularly when the diagram was small. We have added 40 images since, and it is not auto-saving any longer. When we click the...
button to manually save it we get the following error message.
So the data we enter is getting saved, however, it is not allowing us to publish the saved data.
What can we do?
Start by saving the diagram via Export->XML.
How large is that file?

You could try the following:
1. Click three dots (top right of a Confluence page where the diagram is created), click Attachments > choose image file and click "Attach"
2. Open draw.io editor > click "+" > choose "Image" > copy and paste Image URL (image URL can be seen when you right-click the image file in the attachment and click "Copy link address") > click Apply
This should make file size lower (since the image is inserted using its address) and therefore published successfully.
Does it help?

In the meantime, you can work on the XML you downloaded using the desktop build, https://github.com/jgraph/drawio-desktop/releases, locally to local filesystem shouldn't have that problem. You just need to remember to re-upload after you are finished.

Ok. So you're saying the file is too large and this is why it's having a hard time saying and publishing.
I will revert all images to URLs.
