Cannot fetch groups from ActiveDirectory

Derek Schartung Mar 14, 2013

We can authenticate users just fine with local groups in Confluence using Active Directory.

Groups are not showing up.

Here is our LDAP string for Confluence right now:

ou=Corp Users,dc=Corp,dc=local

Our groups in AD look like this (Confluence CN added as an example group)

ldap://dcserv:389/CN=Confluence,OU=Corp%20Groups,DC=Corp,DC=local

I tried adding ou=Corp Users to the Additional Group DN but it does not work. Prepending it to the Base DN does not work either.

Hi Derek!

For your case I suggest to set:

Base DN as: dc=Corp,dc=local

On Aditional User DN: ou=Corp Users

On Aditional Group DN: ou=Corp Groups

If it doesn't work, try setting both OUs (Corp Users and Corp Groups) on User Object Filter and Group Object filter. Check here for more information about how to create filters.

Yep, that was it. Thanks!
