Can you format usernames to have strikethrough?

For example, is it possible to format user names to look like this:

Welcome to Community! Thank you for reaching out.

It's not possible to format the user mentions like that in Cloud. In Confluence Server it might be possible to modify the source code, but you wouldn't be able to set it like that on the fly.

My recommendation for this would be to set this up in a table and then in the column next to the name, you can add a Status Macro. For example you can do a green ATTENDED label and a red DID NOT ATTEND, or something similar.
