Can you edit Blueprint Names or Descriptions?

Adam Mark December 6, 2016

Hey Guys,

Wondering if you are able to edit Blueprint Names/Descriptions, ie.

Name: "Decisions Blueprint"
Description: "Record important project decisions and communicate them with your team."

Thanks in advance!

Hi Adam,

The contents of blueprints can be edited, but not the title or description.

You can edit blueprints in a single space by going to Space tools > Content Tools > Templates.  Change made at the space level will only affect templates in that space.

To change blueprints at a global level, go to Confluence Administration > Global Templates and Blueprints.

Alternatively, you can replace the existing blueprints and templates with your own. You could create a new template with the name and description you want and copy the contents of an existing template into it.  Then disable the existing template, and you've effectively changed the name and description.  Templates can be created in Confluence at both the space and global level, but blueprints require some coding.
