Can't see space in chrome - "We can’t find the page" issue

Oren Rosenblum June 16, 2022

I can't see a space we have in confluence, getting the message:

"We can’t find the page
We looked everywhere, but it just doesn’t exist. Unless, of course, the URL has a typo in it 😉"
From incognito it seems to work, but it's not convenient.
I've tried to close Chrome, restart the computer, and delete cookies, but nothing seems to work.
P.S - the winking emoji is really annoying

Can you tell us about the states of the two sessions?

My guess is that you have:

  • In your non-icognito session:  You have logged into the Confluence
  • In your incognito session: You are not logged in

Is that right?  (I don't want to write an essay on all the possibilities, knowing this would massively shorten it to something useful)

Yeah, but I've

- Logged out

- Closed the browser

- Cleared cookies and Web Data

- Restarted the computer

Nothing works

Ok, all good things to try, but could you tell us what the behaviour is when

1) you have not logged into Confluence and hit that page

2) you have logged into Confluence and hit that page

Oren Rosenblum June 20, 2022

Thanks for answering

When I logged out and hit that page, it just redirects me to the login screen of confluence. id.atlassian.com/login

When I logged in and hit that page, it show me a screen saying:

"We can’t find the page
We looked everywhere, but it just doesn’t exist. Unless, of course, the URL has a typo in it 😉"
(This is probably confluence-not-found div)
A weird thing I've noticed is that before it shows me that not-found, it shows the content for 2 seconds, and then shows me not-found (not redirect, just replaces the content with this not-found)
Also, it happens to other team members.
Thanks

My guess is that you have enabled anonymous access to the space, but you have not added any of your logged-in users to it.

It is counter-intuitive that someone who is logged in suddenly can't see anonymously accessible content.  (Logically, it's actually correct, but confusing and pretty much useless behaviour)

Hey4

I think I was misunderstood.

In Incognito it works after I log in. I can't see the space if I'm not logged in.

It's something with Chrome, really weird

Still sounds like the login thing to me.  Have you tried deleting all the cookies and restarting the browser?

Oren Rosenblum June 28, 2022

Yep, tried this

Oren Rosenblum July 3, 2022

@Nic Brough -Adaptavist- Any ideas?

It happens on other spaces and for other team members as well
