I'm only looking to index one section of the space. I am looking for an option like the one on the Page Tree macro where it allows you to specify a specific "root page" on a space. Or even if there is a way to edit the index that is given. I don't want to make an index of the whole company. Also, I can't buy or try any external macros, just what it comes with.
Out of the box there isn't anything else like the Page Index with more options.
However, have you tried the Children Display macro?
Failing that, if you added a label to all the pages you wanted to include in your index page, you could also try the Content by Label macro - this would give you a flat alphabetical list.
