Can I have guest users without using a license in confluence

Devon June 25, 2018

We have an internally hosted confluence site. The Site has two spaces.. One for IT knowledge base which we use alot. The Second is for a public access for internal employeees only. For the second space, we dont want to have to pay for licenses because the users are just viewing it. I understand there are ways to make the space public but we still want to authenticate our users internally just not use a license because they are just "viewing" the content...

is this possible?

Thanks

Hello,

If you do not want to use licenses, then you should give anonymous access to the space. Otherwise you would use a license even just for reading permissions.

Hello,

Yes, you can allow Anonymous users to access a Space and even give him the permissions necessary to edit pages. However, you won't be able to differentiate who made the changes. You can also allow Anonymous to view pages without giving them the edit permission.
