Blog notifications

Dear all

We maintain a blog where we post news for everyone. Now we would like to send notifications to all users when a new blog post is created.

I know about the problem and the feature request allowing admins to manage space watchers, and voted for it.

Until this gets implemented, is there a way adding a single mail-address (as distributor) to the list of watchers for new blog posts? Or change some db entrys as workaround for the missing thing?

Otherwise everyone has to initial set his own watch for this blog (sending a instruction mail would probably do the trick for most). But as soon as new employees come in this nearly gets un-maintainable.

Thanks in advance for any hints, help or workarounds

BTW: While blogs, or its posts are somehow always static I don't understand the confusing "watch blog post" feature (why should it change?). Many users thought this being the real blog watch and later never received mails for new blog posts.

May be you could create a mailing list outside of Confluence and add all recipients you wish. After that, when you create any content, you can just share that content with the email.

If you want to automate that, you could create an user asociated with that email and make it watch the desired space/page/blog.

Gonna create a special user asociated with the mail distribution account.

Thanks Alex
