Attachment - file type restrictions

Alyse West

When trying to attach txt files into a Confluence page, the page keeps spinning and spinning and the attachment never appears.  When converting the same file to pdf, it worked.  Any ideas?  Are their file extension restrictions in Confluence?

Hello Alyse,

Thank you for contacting us. There are not any file extension restrictions in Confluence; you should be able to add any attachments to a page as you wish. I've tested this now with my own Confluence Cloud instance, and I had no issue attaching a .txt file.

Are you still experiencing this issue? Does it occur with other .txt files?

If so, you may want to raise a ticket with the Cloud Support Team. They'll be able to have a look at your site's logs and determine the reason for this issue.

Regards,

Shannon
